Hamburgers and Dancing

>Yesterday I spoke at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, on the truth that we are all dancers on the inside. The event took place outside, on the patio. It was listen to Terry and then enjoy burgers and fixins’ (catered by a well-known local “hamburger guy”). Craig thanked me after and bought a copy of my book The Power of Pause (amazon.com/Power-Pause). And he said, “I need to be honest with you. I didn’t know you from Adam. But my company is thinking about hiring the hamburger guy, so I came by to check out his work. I knew I had to listen to the speaker first, which made me nervous because speakers are easy to tune out. But I’ve got to tell you, you were worth it. It did my heart good.”
Which goes to show, you never know where the trail takes us. Detours aren’t always bad, and sometimes they make us glad that our plans were altered.
Just think. You start the day looking for the hamburger guy, and you end up raring to Salsa somewhere in the middle of Texas.

A Sabbath Moment reader sent this to me:

Life is short
Break the rules
Forgive quickly
Kiss slowly
Love truly

Laugh uncontrollably

And never regret anything that made you smile

Life may not be the party we hoped for

but while we’re here, let’s dance.
